THE SURGERY WAS A SUCCESS!
UPDATE: 09/10/2011 It was a two-hour surgery, but veterinarian Dr. Amy Miller and Dr. Gordon Wilkes, a plastic surgeon that specializes in infant and child cleft palate repair, has successfully corrected the palate deformity of Keepsake, the beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog puppy from Edmonton, Canada. Keepsake was able to eat soft food and liquid the morning after the surgery and is now resting comfortably at home. How marvelous!
UPDATE: 08/28/2011 Chloe’s puppy, Keepsake is currently being tube-fed because of a birth defect called a cleft palate. However, Dr. Gordon Wilkes, a plastic surgeon, has agreed to assist Dr. Amy Miller in surgically repairing Keepsake’s palate. Our prayers are with you Keepsake!
UPDATE: 08/04/2011 Chloe’s puppy, Keepsake, is fighting for her life. She has a clef palate that is causing nutritional complications. Please keep the family and the puppy in your prayers. Click Here for more information.
A Bernese Mountain Dog named Chloe is the proud momma of a beautiful little girl delivered c-section on Monday, August 1st at 7:30 a.m. Chloe and baby are resting. Check back often to see the puppy grow!
Congratulations, Chloe! And many thanks to Paul and Lynn Bagnall and The Edmonton Journal for letting us share their joyous event!
